History of One Ruqruq Xy

Ruq's first journey from Ul'dah was triggered by an incident where his father, a trader, witnessed a crime necessitating their immediate departure. Along the way, Ruq learns that his father has lived a double life sometimes as a treasure hunter and at times a pirate. Ruq's father teaches him that there is more to a soul than the labels that are cast upon one by others.

When his father passes, Ruq follows the mysterious glimpses of vision, or the 'Sight' as his mother used to call it and makes his way to Aleport and joins a pirate crew as cabin boy to Captain Hawthorne aboard The Flying Silver Dagger... until they run afoul of the Sahagin, a beast tribe north of Limsa Lominsa that is growing in power in recent seasons.

The crew has taken on a mysterious package and barely makes landfall amongst deserted islands as they watch their beloved Dagger fall beneath the waves. Ruq's visions had served them well thus far, but when Ruq's next suggestion is that he alone will get rescued by the next passing fishing vessel, dissent amongst the crew begins in earnest.

Ruq succeeds in getting on a fishing vessel, but his vision has already seen that it, too, will fall to the Sahagin or "fishbacks" as many call them... and only Ruq will get hauled aboard a Lominsan cutter manned by the Yellow Jackets and delivered safe to Limsa Lominsa... to find his way to a new company of relic hunters or to make good on his promise of rescuing Captain Hawthorne and what crew still remains loyal.

Skills

The Sight - Rarely does it happen, but once in awhile, Ruq will get a quick glimpse of a location or a scene that may give him an idea of where to go or what to do to survive a certain impending doom.

Tuff - Ruq has been an outsider most of his life, and on the back alleys of Ul'dah or Limsa, that can get you plenty of fights, so you best learn to know when a joke is good-natured ribbing, or when it's time to jump in with fists flying.

Loyalty - It may take a bit to win his loyalty, but if you do, Ruq will risk everything to do right by you.

Travel - Ruq is always ready to see new lands and learn more about Eorzea and there is nothing back 'home' for him.
